I remember one of the first times my grandmother, who was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, wandered out of the house in the middle of the night. Luckily she didn’t get too far before someone who knew her recognized her and was able to contact my family and get her home safely. While we were fortunate in this case, there are often scenarios where the person with Alzheimer’s doesn’t have any identification on them and gets lost, taking several hours to identify them and contact their caregivers.
Vivo Alert helps in these scenarios by providing a very quick way to identify the Alzheimer’s patient and notify the caregivers and emergency contacts with just one text message. Here’s how it works:
1) The person assisting the lost Alzheimer’s patient will text up the Vivo Alert ID to the number provided and quickly receive a text message response that will identify the patient and any information that the caregiver provided.
2) At the same time Vivo Alert will send an emergency text message to all emergency contacts notifying them that the patient is in an emergency and containing the cell phone number of the person that is assisting the patient.
3) Emergency contacts can then call the person assisting the patient and get connected with their loved one.
As you can see, Vivo Alert can help in providing necessary information to the person assisting them and most importantly, help quickly connect the lost patient with their caregivers and loved ones.
